House MOTHER
Every house has a Mother. She is in charge of the home and ensuring each of her children are taken care of properly.
House of Icardi is the child of Matthew Icardi. He works in the tech industry but has spent years cooking and baking. In 2021, he attended Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. He worked at Michelin-starred Barley Swine as an internship to wrap up his culinary degree. From there, he continued catering parties, doing brunches, making cakes, and whatever else his clients asked. And finally in 2024, House of Icardi came together. The future concept is a multi- faceted house of catering, restaurants, and much more.
Chosen family
The concept of “houses” comes from the queer community, specifically ball culture. Groups of people would compete in ballroom competitions and often lived in the same house. These were chosen families. I have loved this idea since I came out and learned both about chosen families and houses. House of Icardi was born out of the idea that while we do not get to choose our families, we get to choose the people we do life with and call our chosen family.
Growing up, I remember people always talking about their name and how it meant something. And I always wondered what people thought of Icardi. Who are they? What are they known for?
